THE THREE OF US WENT TO BASIC AT FORT HOOD TX, THEN TO CAMP RUCKER ALABAMA, THEN TO FORT ORD CA. AND THEN TO THE 572nd IN LIBYA WHERE WE ALL MADE E-4. CARNES AND I WERE DISCHARGED DEC 28 1962 AND BURGIN WENT TO IRAN, THEN RE-UP.
KENNETH HUBBLE (not shown) WAS ALSO WITH US AT CAMP RUCKER. HE WENT TO THE 68 AVN AT FORT ORD CA. AND WAS SENT TO LIBYA WITH US. HE WAS A CHOPPER MECHANIC WHO WORKED WITH A TECHNICAL REP (I THINK HIS NAME WAS IRA TUCKER) WHO WORKED ON THE H-23. I ALSO HELPED THEM WITH A COUPLE OF ENGINE CHANGES AT THE FIELD PARTYS.
