
Romeo Porzano was born in Tripoli to an Italian family. Speaking perfect Italian and Arabic, Romeo found a civilian job doing accounting, filing, and interpreter duties with the 64th Engineer Bn at the MDW353 office where the Motor Pool, Supply and Flight Line (and others) would place their orders for everything from engine parts to C-Ration etc. He later left for Italy to continue his education.

"Lady Be Good" monument in front of the headquarters for the 7272nd Air Base Wing, Wheelus AFB, Libya.
