CD or DVD copies of the ACS Yearbooks of 1964, and 1967 through 1974 are now available for sale at the MM Store. The Addis Ababa American School (and Addis Ababa American Dependent School) was established in 1959. An American School existed in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia before that. Please send information concerning that school. On April 29, 1964, His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I granted a 50 year lease on a 15 acre tract of land (southeast of the Imperial Golf Course and old International Airport) for the establishment of the American Community School of Addis Ababa. So far, I have posted the 1964, and 1967 through 1974 ACS yearbooks on this Web site. To my knowledge, there were no ACS yearbooks printed for school years 1965 and 1966, but there were class photos taken and made available to the students. If you have any class photos from those years please scan them at 300 dpi and E-mail them as attachments to LeeMiller@ethi-usmappingmission.com. Steve Vance has a Web site dedicated to the American Community School - Addis Ababa where alumni, teachers and friends from all three versions of the school have left messages in the 'Guest Book".
